      New Hyundai i20 sales continue to impress the Korean carmaker in India

      Hyundai recently launched the new Elite i20 in diesel and petrol option for the Indian market. Ever since its launch, the car has caught the fancy of many owing to its stunning design and smart features. The vehicle is offered at decent price tag of about Rs. 5.0 lakh - Rs. 7.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Post launch in August this year, the sales number for the vehicle has been pretty impressive. In-fact, the numbers have indeed been better than its older trim. The reports show that Hyundai has sold about 10,500 units as against 4643 units sold in the same period last year.

      Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP for Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, "Hyundai with a volume of 35,511 units indicate strong demand for Hyundai models, giving growth month after month bettering the industry slow growth. The strong investment of launching four new products in a years' time has resulted in this growth. Today Hyundai has one of the youngest product portfolio lead by Elite i20 which has reached a landmark number of 10,500 units making it as the top seller amongst the strong Hyundai brands.”

      The petrol version of Hyundai Elite i20 is powered by 1.2-litre Kappa2 engine that generates a power output of about 82bhp with 115Nm of peak torque, whereas the diesel trim is powered by 1.4-litre CRDi engine that generates about 89 bhp of power with 200 Nm of torque. The top end trim is offered with driver and front passenger airbags for maximum protection.
