Country leading player in the two wheeler segment, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported an impressive 17% growth in sales in the month of November this year in comparison to the previous year. In November, the company reportedly sold about 3,72,036 units last month as against 3,19,082 units sold in the same period last year.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India holds a domestic market share of about 27%, whereas its export and domestic share is about 24%. Going by reports Honda's motorcycle sales have dropped by 4.08% with 1,36,961 units reportedly being sold as against 1,42,797 units sold last year in the same period. Interestingly, scooter sales have witnessed growth by about 32.6% with 2,17,049 units as against 1,63,679 units units sold last year during the same period. Exports have grown by 42.99% with 18,026 units as against 12,606 units noted in the same period last year.
Recently Honda has launched Iconic Gold Wing in the domestic market to celebrate its 40 years of success in India. The group has also initiated many social awareness programs in the country that aid in creating a positive brand image in the country.
