A fully unmasked updated Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been spotted doing the rounds. The spy shots reveal the updated compact sedan in all its glory without any camouflage, possibly hinting at its launch, soon.
The fascia shows the Swift-inspired design with a wide chrome grille, new bumper with revised air dams, fog lamps and chrome embellishments. The new swept-back projector headlamps with LED DRLs are similar to what are seen on the upcoming Swift. At the back, the car gets revised LED tail lamps, a reworked bumper, new boot-lid spoiler and a shark fin antenna.
Images of the interior indicate that layout of the dashboard remains similar to that of the Swift. However, instead of the round circular vents, the Dzire gets quadrilateral shaped ones. The touch screen system has been borrowed from the latest products like the Ignis and the Baleno. The steering wheel gets a wooden trim as seen on the dashboard too.
Engine options are expected to remain the same with both petrol and diesel models. The petrol sedan will come powered by the 84bhp 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12B mill, while the diesel will get the 74bhp 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder unit. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, while the oil-burner can be had with a five-speed AGS (AMT) gearbox.
We are expecting Maruti Suzuki to launch the revamped Dzire in May 2017. It will go up against the sub-four-metre sedans like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire etc. in the Indian market.
