Bajaj Auto, the homegrown automaker, is aiming to launch a series of new motorcycles in the country this year. Currently holding around 17 per cent of market share, the company is aiming to further enhance its market share by introducing new bikes in different segments. Here is a list of upcoming Bajaj Bikes launching this year.

Bajaj Pulsar 150/160 NS: The demand for affordable naked bikes in India has seen a great rise in past few years. To encash the rising trend for such bikes, Bajaj Auto is also readying a bike in the segment which might be called either 160NS and 150NS. The bike might replace the ageing Pulsar 150cc. It will rival against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 155, Yamaha FZ-S Version 2.0 and Honda CB Trigger. Sharing its styling with the 200 NS, the new model will be based on a perimeter frame. It is expected to be powered by a new 160cc, single-cylinder engine that is likely to develop around 15PS of power. The engine will be clubbed to a five-speed gearbox to put power on roads.

Bajaj Pulsar 200SS: Expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2015, the Pulsar 200 SS is, no doubt, one of the most awaited bikes of the year. The production of the bike has already commenced at the company’s production facility in Pimpri, Pune. It has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads. Based on the Pulsar NS200, the bike shares its styling quotient with the Pulsar 400 SS concept that was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. This fully-faired bike will be powered by a 199.5cc engine that churns out a maximum power output of 23bhp and a peak torque of 18Nm. The company might also introduce the ABS-equipped version of this motorcycle in the country.

Bajaj Pulsar 400SS: Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Bajaj Pulsar 400 SS is likely to be launched in the country by mid-2015. It will be powered by a 375cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that churns out a maximum power output of 41bhp. The fully-faired sports bike is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.6 lakh to Rs. 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be sold as the company’s flagship product in the country.

Bajaj Platina facelift: It is the company’s cheapest offering in India, which has received an overwhelming response from buyers. But the sales have started dropping gradually as rivals updated their offering on time. The upcoming Platina will get a mild makeover to give it a refreshed look. Though it is likely to retain the current design, the company might offer new graphics, new exterior shades and body panels. The engine is also likely to be tweaked to offer more power and fuel efficiency.
