Honda Cars India is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited new 2015 Jazz hatchback in the country. Showcased at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the new Jazz will go on sale in the first quarter of 2015. First launched in 2009, the model failed to generate volumes for the Japanese car manufacturer. In order to enhance its market share in growing premium hatchback segment, the company is aiming to offer high fuel efficiency and various features. And to do that, the next Jazz will be offered with a CVT on the petrol powered variant. Honda Cars India has recently imported the paddle shifters from Thailand for the hatchback. The 2015 Jazz CVT will be equipped with multi-functional steering mounted paddle shifters.

The 2015 Honda Jazz hatchback will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The gasoline model will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that also powers the Brio hatchback and Amaze compact sedan. This engine will be coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox or the CVT. The oil burner is the highly fuel-efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine that will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The 2015 Honda Jazz hatchback will be the first car in its league to feature paddle shifters in India. Interestingly, the other hatchbacks (Mercedes A- and B-Class, BMW 1-Series) equipped with paddle shifters cost over Rs. 25 lakh in the country. The Jazz CVT is expected to cost around Rs. 1 lakh more than the standard variant. With high level of local components, Honda is aiming to price the new Jazz competitive in the market.
