      Multiple phase launch schedule of Renault Duster in different cities of India

      The much anticipated compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), Duster, from the French car maker Renault finally made its debut in the Indian auto market on July 4, 2012. Auto aficionados across the country have been quite anxious to get the first look of the Renault Duster, following its launch. However, they were not sure of when the car will arrive in their respective city. Reportedly, the French auto giant is looking forward to launch the new car in entire country within multiple phases.

      In terms of launches, the trend followed by car makers these days is to present their vehicle in several stages and, therefore, Renault is not an exception. In the first phase of its launch on July 4, Duster made its foray in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Thereafter, the company break cover of its compact SUV at the shores of Chennai and Bengaluru, in its next phase on July 5, which was further followed to Chandigarh on July 6. Cities like Jaipur and Kolkata will welcome the coveted SUV on July 7, and the launch of car in rest of the country will be dealer specific.

      On being probed about delivery period, sources revealed that Renault's first priority is to meet the pre-booking orders starting from July 15, 2012. Car maker has high hopes with the vehicle as it can be game changer for the French auto giant. Renault has offered an option of petrol and diesel engine with its new offering, which cater to the demands of a large number of buyers. The petrol model holds a 1.6 litre powertrain coupled with a 5 speed manual gearbox, which delivers a decent mileage of 13.2 kmpl.

      On the other hand, the diesel model is assimilated with a 1.5 litre motor, which is offered with an option of 5 and 6 speed manual transmission gearbox, affecting the acceleration and performance of car. The former configuration offers an impressive fuel economy of 20.4 kmpl, whereas the latter delivers 19 kmpl. Making the car price competitive, Renault has slotted its Duster in the price bracket of Rs. 7.19 lacs to Rs. 11.29 lacs.
