The German luxury car maker has used the much fawned upon modular rear wheel drive architecture platform in its 2015 C-Class model. The new sedan is anticipated to come bolstered with a powerful engine, capable of delivering superior performance than the current entry-level Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class model. According to sources, the next generation C Class saloon will have better interior cockpit setting, thereby making it one of the company's most sophisticated product in terms of voluminous headroom and legroom.

Coming to under-the-hood specifications of upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the saloon is expected to come fitted with a 4 cylinder, longitudinally placed diesel motor or an immensely powerful V6 petrol engine. The peak power outputs could range between 180 bhp and 300 bhp, respectively, depending upon the models and engine type. Further, the engine assembly of the next generation C-Class will come mated to a six speed manual or a seven speed automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) system, with drivetrain in rear-wheel configuration.

Mercedes-Benz has not yet finalised the release date of its 2015 C-Class model, but sources suggest that the stylish model could see daylight somewhere in the middle of 2014-2015 financial year. It is going to be interesting to see when the German auto major brings its next generation C-Class to Indian turf in the premium luxury passenger car market. At present, the segment serves as an interesting battleground between Mercedes-Benz's C-Class and the fellow German automotive maker plus stiff competitor BMW's 3 Series sedan range. It seems as if the 'Three Pointed Star' will finally have a smashing new product that could challenge the market dominance of BMW 3 Series in both Indian and international auto markets.
