      Mercedes-Benz India imports Maybach S600 to India

      Mercedes-Benz has imported a single unit of the Maybach S600 luxury saloon in India probably for homologation purpose. This hints at the company's plans of launching it in the country.

      Powering the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is a 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine that is paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. It churns out a maximum power of 523bhp at 4,900rpm – 5,300rpm, while yielding a peak torque of 830Nm at 1,900rpm – 4,000rpm. This engine is capable to achieve 0-100km/hr in 5 seconds.

      Coming to the dimensions, the Maybach S600 is 207mm longer, and more spacious than the existing S-Class. It measures 5,453mm in length, and features a wheelbase of 3,365mm. On the exterior, the car gets a tweaked front grille, LED intelligent lighting system, panoramic sliding roof and Maybach badge on the C-Pillars and boot lid.

      This ultra-luxury sedan will be equipped with plenty of comfort and safety features such as Burmester 3D Surround Sound System, Heads-Up display, executive rear seat package, Magic Body control suspension, Magic Sky control system, Pre-Safe brake with pedestrian recognition, active lane keeping assist, distronic plus with steering assist, adaptive highbeam assist plus and night view assist plus, front, side, curtain and thorax airbags, etc.

      The Mercedes-Maybach S600 will take on the likes of Bentley Flying Spur, Aston Martin Rapide and Rolls-Royce Ghost. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.79 crore (ex-showroom).
