      Mercedes Benz B Class will mark an entry of a new segment

      Mercedes Benz India, one of the leading luxury car makers in the Indian market, is planning to launch their popular B-Class sports tourer in the country by last quarter of this year. The launch of this new car is part of company’s future product and marketing strategy to maintain a considerable growth in the Indian luxury car segment.

      The launch of new B Class model will be followed by all new Mercedes Benz A Class in the country, which is scheduled to the rolled-out in the country next year. Going one step further the company is also planning to launch an all new compact luxury SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) – GLC Class in the country in year 2014, which will be competing with the likes of BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

      Speaking to the reporters in Chennai, Debashis Mitra, director (sales and marketing), at Mercedes Benz India, said, "There are two ways to gain market share and volume in a slowing business environment." He added, "One is to cut price or introduce lower-priced, stripped down variants. The other is to look for new products, consumers and terrains. We are focusing on the latter."
