Recently Ford launched its newest model as Ford Classic after dropping the Fiesta badge from its Classic sedan. The car comes with several cosmetic upgrades and a competitive price tag. However, it will be quite interesting to watch how the new launch fares against the established players in the market. Among others Mahindra Verito is one that will be of major concern for the newly launched sedan in the country. In terms of cabin space, Verito is the clear winner, however, the Classic is a more elegant model, with its beige interiors. On the other hand, Mahindra is planning to launch the face-lifted Verito soon in the market. Still, with features like bluetooth connectivity and an affordable price tag, Classic is a better buy in terms of value for money.
Another tough competitor is the Swift DZire from Maruti Suzuki, which is less than 4 metres in length, thus, reducing the duty on it. The DZire comes with all the features of the best selling Swift hatchback with an additional boot, which makes it the preferred choice for most Indian buyers. However, its loses from the Classic in terms of boot space due to its reduced length. At the same time, Classic also offers better handling and drivability. Speaking of interiors, Classic is now at par with the Maruti's sedan with beige coloured interiors and offers better utility of money. For those buyers looking for a good sedan, DZire is the car of their choice, however, for those looking for more space may opt for the Classic.
And last but not the least is Tata Indigo Manza, which like Swift Dzire, is the sedan variant of an existing hatchback model from the car maker. It comes loaded with many contemporary features and is one of the best sedans that offers full value for its price. However, being powered by Fiat powertrains on both the petrol and diesel variants, it loses out to Classic which outperforms Manza by miles when its comes to petrol variants. Those looking for a high on comfort and practicality sedan should look no further than the Tata Indigo Manza. While, the buyers inclined towards a sporty and fun car will find Ford Classic to their liking.
Being a fast growing automotive market, India offers lots of choices to its buyers across various segments. Still, it is expected that Classic will be able to hold its ground in this highly competitive market on the grounds of space and cut-price.
