Maruti will be soon launching the Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) for the diesel variant. However, it will be launching the sedan at a premium of about Rs 25,000-40,000. The Ciaz will have the same 1.3-litre diesel engine, however with this start and stop technology it will enhance the fuel-efficiency of the sedan to 28km/l.

This technology is an import at the moment, however it does get the excise benefit as it comes under electric and hybrid technology. This will help the company reduce about Rs 1 lakh from the price tag. Maruti will be offering this technology on the Ertiga facelift as well, which will be launched in October. The other products to get this technology will be the Swift and the DZire. These will help the company to increase the fuel efficiency and for the Swift and DZire, the ARAI mileage is likely to touch 30km/l.
