      Maruti Suzuki introduces 2013 Wagon R with a facelift

      Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India’s largest passenger car maker, has introduced a revamped model of its iconic hatchback WagonR with an appealing base price tag of Rs. 3.58 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Besides retaining its core values like brilliant performance and unparalleled city handling credentials, the refreshed WagonR flaunts a superior fuel efficiency of 20.51 kmpl. With these figures, the new model is 8 per cent more fuel efficient than the previous generation model.

      At the launch ceremony of new WagonR, the Vice President (Marketing) at MSIL, Manohar Bhat said, “WagonR is not just a bestseller for us but is also among top five models of the industry. The changes introduced on the New WagonR are in line with the customer feedback received through our regular customer engagement programmes. The new WagonR is over 8 per cent more fuel efficient, sportier, OBD-II compliant, contemporary in design and laced with utility features. We are confident that customers will appreciate the refreshments in the new WagonR and we it would help to strengthen brand WagonR.”

      The facelift model of WagonR has come as a delight for Indian auto enthusiasts who demand a superior mileage at an affordable price. Reportedly, the auto maker has been able to achieve this higher mileage with the help of several factors, which have together brought down the friction and also enhanced the engine combustion. Moreover, the incorporation of low viscosity transmission oil facilitates the new model to offer smooth gear shifts and reduce the maintenance costs of new model as well.

      Equipped with a K-10 engine, the recently introduced model is OBD-II compliant, which acts like an indicator of the engine’s health and alerts the driver in case of any breakdown. In order to lure the Indian buyers, the auto maker has offered its new Wagon R with dual tone interior colour scheme (beige & black). The refreshed WagonR is available in four trim options, namely VXi, Lx, Lxi and VXi. The VXi variant is offered with beige seats, whereas the Lx and Lxi trims are offered with a combination of beige and black colours. On the other hand, the VXi version comes with a new eagle wings music system, which supports USB and AUX-in interface.
