Seeing this sort of demand, Maruti Suzuki has paced up its production of the XA Alpha compact SUV that was showcased as a concept vehicle at the 2012 Auto Expo, which was held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Sources have claimed that due to the prevalent competition, Maruti Suzuki is going to showcase the XA Alpha as a production model at 2014 Auto Expo. Industry experts believe that Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha, when launched, will provide really tough competition to the likes of Nissan Terrano and Ford EcoSport.
Apart from the XA Alpha compact SUV, Maruti Suzuki is likely to unveil a new sedan, which will replace the current generation SX4, reports have claimed. The talk about this model, tentatively named YL1, has been going on for a while now. Reports suggest that the firm has high expectations from this model and would like to make a comeback in the mid-sized sedan segment.
