The Ciaz sedan from Maruti Suzuki drew a lot of flak in the initial days of its launch. Over a period the sedan indeed lost its sheen and witnessed a steady drop in demand owing to the presence of more better performing and feature loaded options in the market. In order to stay upbeat with times, the carmaker has planned on launching a new Ciaz SHVS Hybrid (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki). To begin with, the new trim is expected to return impressive mileage figure of about 30 km/l, as against the 26.21km/l delivered by the existing model.
Powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet engine the fresh technological upgrade that the sedan has received is inclusion of an integrated starter generator. This helps the engine in driving better power regeneration by more engine power assistance from the motor. The ISG braking system helps the engine start-stop technology that further aids in delivering better fuel efficiency numbers.
In terms of features, the new upcoming model shall receive driver-side airbag as standard. Whereas additional features like dual airbags, Anti-lockig braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) system shall be offered in V(O) trim. Some dealers have also reportedly started accepting bookings for same and more details about the vehicle shall be revealed in the coming days.
