Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker will launch at least eight new cars in the country in 2015-16. The company will introduce two all-new cars- the SX4 S-Cross and YRA premium hatchback this year. Moreover, the maker will also launch the Celerio diesel and top-spec ZXi variant with AMT in April, 2015.

Seeing the overwhelming response for the Celerio AMT, the maker is aiming to introduce more feature-equipped top-end variant with Auto Gear Shift. It is expected that the Maruti Suzuki Celerio ZXi Auto Gear Shift will be priced around Rs. 5 lakh, while the Optional ZXi variant will be tagged around Rs. 5.5 lakh. To justify this high price, the vehicle is likely to get some advance features. It is expected to get front fog lamps, alloy wheels, body coloured door handles, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, adjustable driver seat, Anti-lock braking system and dual airbags.

Talking about diesel Celerio, the car is expected to be the country's most fuel efficient diesel car. It will be powered by an all-new diesel engine, manufactured in-house by MSI. It will be a three-cylinder 793cc engine, which will be the smallest turbo diesel engine. It is expected to return around 30.1kmpl of mileage.

According to Maruti, 30-40 per cent of small car sales will come from Automatic gear shift version. It is expected that the company will launch new cars including WagonR, Swift and Dzire in the country with AMT gearbox in near future. In order to meet rising demand, MSI in JV with Magnetti Marelli is setting up their manufacturing unit inside Manesar production plant.
