Suzuki Motorcycle is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited fully-faired Gixxer SF in the country on April 7, 2015. Based on the popular Gixxer 150, the new bike is likely to be launched in the first half of April, 2015. Unlike the naked Gixxer, the SF will get full fairing and will compete against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R15.
Sharing the engine specs with regular Gixxer, the fully-faired Gixxer SF will get a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled carburetted engine. This engine is capable of producing 14.8PS of top power and 14Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to roads via a five-speed gearbox. With bike fairing, it is expected that the bike will be heavier than the regular model. The company might tune the engine to maintain high performance and efficiency.
The styling of the Gixxer SF will be identical to the naked version. The bike will share components like fuel tank, side panels, tail end, grab rails, etc. The only major difference between the two is the new bike fairing. The digital instrument cluster of the bike comprises of trip meter, adjustable shift light, gear indicator and a clock. The Suzuki Gixxer SF, reportedly, will be available in five colour options including Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Red and Metallic Grey.
The naked Gixxer is priced at Rs. 73,000 and it is expected that the fully-faired model will cost around Rs. 10,000 more than the regular model.
