      Mahindra Racing wins the first ever title for India at the 2012 Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship

      India is fast making its presence felt in the international racing map and the latest feather in its hat is the 'Constructors Title' won by the Mahindra Racing in the renowned Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. The final race of the 2012 season of this 125 GP Class event was held today at the Vallelunga Circuit in Italy. This prestigious title was bagged by Miroslav Popov, aged 17 and Lukas Trautmann of Mahindra
      Racing. While Miroslav finished the race in the pole position, Trautmann was right after him to bag the second position in this race of 16 laps.

      Popov beaming with his victory credited the team for the podium finish and said that the he was happy to have ended the 2012 season with a first position. He felt that Mahindra Racing team displayed a good coordination
      and harmony to beat the odds and grab the victory, Trautmann echoed the exact sentiments and expressed his happiness on bagging the second position. He dedicated his win to the team and stated that his future seems bright with the team.

      Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mahindra Racing, Mufaddal Choonia, said, "Winning a highly competitive event like the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship is a historic achievement for Mahindra Racing and Indian motorsport. We competed against the best in the world with a pair of young and energetic riders and our victory marks a big step forward for the team. The year wasn't all easy but we remained determined and committed and are thrilled with the results."

      At the same time, President, Group Strategy, Mahindra Group, S.P. Shukla congratulated the Mahindra Racing team on their win and acknowledged the contribution of riders and team in this historical win. He also claimed that the repetitive success in the global motorsport events like Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship is only adding to the reputation of Mahindra brand across the globe. He quoted that the superb performance by both Popov and Trautmann as well as the excellent team work are hallmarks of the Mahindra's Rise philosophy.

      Mahindra Racing entered CIV racing in the year 2012 and went on to become the first Indian team to claim the victory in an international motorsport event with Moretti finishing first in the opening race at Mugello, Italy. Mahindra Racing bagged 3 double podium finishes in this season with six races won out of a total of eight. The achievement is particularly special as Mahindra is among those very few manufacturers, who participate with bikes using their own chassis and powertrain.
