After the TUV300 compact SUV, Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to introduce the Quanto facelift in the upcoming festive season (i.e. October – November, 2015). Expected to be priced around Rs. 6.5 lakh – Rs. 8 lakh, the 2016 Mahindra Quanto facelift will take on the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and others in the league. Mahindra Quanto rear spyshot

The latest spyshot reveals the rear design bits of the vehicle including windscreen, rear wiper, license plate and tailgate mounted spare wheel. The new Quanto is likely to share some design cues with the Mahindra Genio pickup that was spied a few days back. It might feature a radiator black metal grille with large air dams, revised front bumper, a sportier bonnet, new headlights and chrome surround fog lights.  The interior, too, will be revised with beige and grey theme, new instrument cluster, AC vents and multi-function steering wheel. It will continue to feature the seven-seat configuration with two facing seats in cargo area.

The 2016 Mahindra Quanto facelift will be powered by the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder mCR100 twin stage turbocharged diesel engine that also does duty to the current model. It churns out a maximum power of 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to a new five-speed AutoShift transmission, which is jointly developed by M&M and UK-based Ricardo. The AutoShift gearbox is likely to be offered only on the lower trims – C2, C4 and C6. Mahindra might also tune the suspension system of the vehicle.
