Mahindra Two Wheelers officially declared that its Mahindra Peugeot motorcycles dominated the opening round of Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (CIV 2015 Moto3), which was held last weekend. The team won both the races held at Misano circuit in Italy. Marco Bezzecchi claimed the numero uno position riding a Mahindra Peugeot MGP3O bike for team Minimoto Portomaggiore, in both the races of first round.
Bezzecchi was joined by team-mate Fabio Spiranelli in the first race, also astride the MGP3O. The spectacular win of Fabio made a double podium for Mahindra Peugeot motorcycles. Interestingly, this winning in Europe’s one of the most competitive National Racing Championships is a proud moment for Mahindra & Mahindra. It is believed that motorcycle racing is one of the important testing arenas to check cutting-edge research and technological development.
The superb double victory of Mahindra Peugeot MGP3O in Misano against top-class teams represents the world-class two-wheeler technology of Mahindra. This victory also demonstrates the synergy between Peugeot and Mahindra Racing. It must be noted that Mahindra was reckoned as the constructor champions for 2 years in a row - in 2012 (125GP class) and 2013 CIV (Moto3 class). During 2013 CIV Moto3, the company dominated the championship and Mahindra rider Andrea Locatelli was titled as the Italian National Moto3 Champion. Over the last few years, Mahindra has consolidated its position globally by acquiring a major stake in Peugeot Motorcycles. Notably, at upcoming Rounds 3 and 4 at Vallelunga racetrack, to be held on 16th and 17th of May 2015, Team Minimoto Portomaggiore with Mahindra Peugeot Motorcycles, is preparing really hard to put up another awe-inspiring show.
