The largest car manufacturer of Europe, Volkswagen has declared sales growth of 18 per cent during April 2015 at 3,572 units under the review of 3,033 units sold in the month of corresponding period of last year. It is being learnt that this increase is reported on the back of recently launched models like New Jetta and Vento Magnific, which proved quite successful in the Indian auto market. Both of these models are known for their build quality, safety standards and driving dynamics. Notably, Volkswagen Polo is the only hatchback in its respective segment, which features a 4-star NCAP safety rating. Polo also made a significant contribution in the overall sales of Volkswagen.
Speaking on this sales performance, the Director of Passenger Cars at Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd, Michael Mayer was quoted as saying, “We are happy to note the overall positive sentiment in the Indian automotive industry, which has also had a very good effect on our sales. We are particularly encouraged by our customers’ response to the DSG-equipped variants of the Vento and the Polo GT. The growth we achieved in April is higher than the industry average, and we remain confident of continuing to improve our sales figures over the coming months.”
