      Mahindra Bolero Special Edition limited to 500 units

      Mahindra and Mahindra has finally launched the much awaited special edition version of Bolero SUV. The pearl white toned SUV with sporty decals shall be present in only 500 units on a first-come-first-serve basis.

      The Limited Edition off-roader from Mahindra's stable shall be powered by 2523 cc, m2DiCR engine that generates about 46.3 kW of power at 3200RPM with 195 Nm of torque output at 1400-2200RPM. The powerful egine is mated to a five speed manual transmission. For unpredictable road condition the Mahindra Bolero is blessed with Independent with coil spring and anti roll bar suspension for the front wheels, whereas the rear wheels gets Elliptical leaf spring. For complete control and safety the Mahindra Bolero gets an ABS (Anti Lock Braking) system for the rear wheels that is helpful in tackling sharp corners.

      The cabin carries a premium feel with the luxurious European leather wrapped seats. The music system embedded on the dashboard comes with Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with USB devices. Space and comfort has been retained like its previous predators. On the exterior front the Bolero gets Blue Vision headlamps that compliment the Pearl white exteriors with sporty new decals.

      At the recently ended Auto Expo event in the country Mahindra and Mahindra had showcased their first electric sports car in the country named ‘Halo’. At the event, Pawan Goenka, Executive Director and President of Automotive and Farm Equipment sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra, said “There is a plan to commercialize Halo, we are working on a bigger power-train and a final design. It will take about three years to be production ready. It may very well turn out that the market for the car may be outside India. Unless there is government support for electric vehicles, the car could be launched outside India first.” It has a top speed of 160 km/ph with a range of 200 km on full recharge. This next generation electric sports car concept also sports advanced safety features, a dual touchscreen infotainment system and high end connectivity. Built in India and designed at the Mahindra Reva studio, the Halo will effectively act as Mahindra’s medium for the demonstration for technology for the growing global electric car market. As per sources the car may be put up for sale sometime in late 2015 or early 2016 and the production version is likely to cost about Rs. 30-35 Lakh.
