Isuzu Motors India (IMI), today, launched the MU- 7 SUV AT (Automatic transmission) variant at Rs. 23.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Just like the manual variant, the MU-7 AT will bebrought via CKD route, and then assembled at HMFCL (Hindustan Motor Finance Corp’s) Tiruvallur plant.
Claimed to be more refined, the MU-7 AT variant comes equipped with some additional features. The car gets a dual tone (Beige/Black) dashboard with high gloss lacquer finished wood trim, 3 spoke steering wheel with mounted with audio controls, new Kenwood 6015 BT audio system with satellite navigation function, a rear parking sensor and rear view camera with the touch-screen display. Though, the exterior design and dimensions remain unchanged.
Power for the MU-7 automatic comes from a 2999cc, four-cylinder intercooled VGS turbo diesel engine that also does duty to the regular manual variant. Though, it is tuned for higher torque figures. This engine puts out a maximum power of 163PS at 3,600rpm and 333Nm of torque between 1,600rpm – 3,200rpm. This powertrain is mated to an automatic transmission. Its continued to feature the rear-wheel drivetrain system.
