Reports have surfaced that Ford has unveiled its compact car 'Ka' in Brazil. According to sources, this car is likely to be introduced in India in 2015. The basic aim of designing and developing such a compact car is to lure first time buyers across the globe. Also, through this launch, Ford just wants to build up on a 'global' car model that can be put on sale in all major markets. Experts feel that a definite aggressive pricing strategy is highly imperative to make this new vehicle a success on global fronts. Joginder Singh, President and Managing director of Ford India, while giving insight into this upcoming passenger car, commented, "The all-new Ford Ka Concept - a sleek, compact hatchback is an interesting and exciting product being developed for global market by the Brazilian team." Quite interestingly, EcoSport has been developed by Ford Brazil under the One Ford Plan.
With respect to an Indian launch of this compact car, it must be noted that Ford India's goal is to use the success of its EcoSport utility vehicle as a platform to penetrate deeper in the market. Notably, EcoSport has got a tremendous response in the domestic market and its sales are growing steadily with each passing day. Moreover, the auto company is aware of the huge potential that is available in Indian automobile market and hence, willing to keep things running from sales perspective. Also, as it can be foreseen, such initiatives are only going to help the auto company to gain more market share and subsequently, build on its brand image in the country.
So far, there is no official information on specifications of this new upcoming compact passenger car. However, as per reports available from various sources, the vehicle is to boast of highly stylised interiors and exteriors. As hinted by auto company's robust global plans, customers can expect this car to come equipped with a number of high-end features. This new passenger car is likely to come with two engine options, petrol and diesel. The petrol version is expected to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine with superior power and torque outputs. There is no information about the gear box type.

From market perspective, it can be said that with auto companies like Ford trying to hit market with superior and improvised products, the competition is only going to get intensified in future.
