      Hyundai's US Marketing Chief Steve Shannon quits

      Korean carmaker Hyundai has not just been a popular brand in India, it is also well known in the US markets for its stunning designs and use of modern technologies. Based on fresh updates Hyundai Motor America marketing chief Steve Shannon has quit the company to persue other opportunities. Shannon had joined Hyundai in 2011 to take over the responsibility of helping the Korean brand to grow in the US market.

      Speaking more on the occasion, Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America CEO said, “Steve has achieved a number of key accomplishments in his leadership of the company’s marketing efforts over the last three years.” Hyundai spokesman stated that the company had started looking out for a replacement but are yet to select a replacement. As per Ad Age's DataCenter, Hyundai has been the 88th largest advertiser in the country and back in 2013 the company had reportedly spent around $474 million on advertising.

      Steve Shannon has reportedly spent more than 25 years with General Motors before joining Hyundai in 2011. During his time in Detroit, he has also worked with brands like Saturn, Oldsmobile, Buick, Saab and Hummer. At the time of joining Hyundai, John Krafcik, Hyundai's CEO said, “He's a marketing innovator with strong convictions about serving the customer. At the same time, he's personable, enthusiastic and professional.” Back then Krafcik also called him as a perfect fit for the role.
