Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited i20 Active cross in the Indian market. Ahead of its official launch on March 17, new details and pictures of the car have been revealed. Based on the Elite i20 hatchback, the i20 Active comes with a large 190mm of ground clearance and new 16-inch alloy wheels.
Going by the interior images, it is visible that the company has made significant styling updates to the interiors of the i20 Active. The overall layout of the car remains the same, but the car has new all-black dashboard. Also visible is the orange finish on AC vents rim, gear knob, FM/AM button and music player. There is orange stitching on seats, which complements the exteriors finished in orange or Mars Red.
The Hyundai i20 Active gets new front fascia with new front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and new bumper with circular fog lights. At the rear, the crossover has new bumper with circular reflectors, chrome strip and new slid plate. The side profile of the car has extra black plastic cladding that add more to its sporty character.
The crossover model shares its engines with the Elite i20 hatchback. The petrol version of the car is propelled by a 1.2-litre motor, paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, which is capable of producing 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel version of the SUV gets a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi motor that churns out 90PS of power and 220Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the vehicle via a six-speed manual gearbox. While the petrol unit is claimed to return 17.19kmpl of mileage, the oil burner delivers 21.19kmpl of fuel economy.
