Hyundai Elite i20 is the latest offering from the Korean car-maker for the Indian market. Post much wait, the dynamically styled hatchback finally made it debut in the country last month. The Hyundai i20 Elite has been launched in petrol as well as diesel alternative. News about a three door coupe variant has also been doing rounds for a while in the country. Going by the sketches that shall be followed at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe located in Russelsheim in Germany, the coupe is also expected to create a stir in the local market.
The Hyundai Elite i20 has been launched with impressive performing fleet of petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2 litre engine has been used in the petrol variant and Hyundai claims that the hatchback returns an impressive fuel efficiency of about 18.6 kmpl. On the other hand the diesel version is stated to be powered by a 1.4 litre, U2 CRDi engine that is capable of delivering top power of about 90 PS with a peak torque of about 22.4 kgm. Impressively, the diesel power-train also claims to return good fuel economy of about 22.54 kmpl. Owing to stunning styling, the car has attracted a huge demand in the Indian market and the company Hyundai Motors has reportedly been working on a plan to bring down the waiting list by enhancing the production numbers. The petrol and diesel engines in the new Hyundai i20 have received the five-speed manual transmission.
One of the impressive features that attracts buyers to the new Hyundai i20 is the safety pedal that brings the car to a halt in case the driver accidentally steps on the brakes and accelerator simultaneously. It is believed that the Hyundai may showcase the coupe version of i20 at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. More details on the coupe version may be known during its official unveiling. The diesel variant of recently launched Hyundai Elite i20 is priced at about Rs. 6.09 lakhs, whereas the petrol trim has been launched at Rs. 4.89 lakhs. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi based.
