Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), counted among the country's leading premium auto manufacturers, has officially announced the change in its name as Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL). The move was taken by the auto maker followed by the divestment made by its Joint Venture (JV) partner, Usha International Limited (UIL) from HSCI. With effect from 10th September, 2012, the change in name was approved by the Registrar of Companies, NCT of Delhi and Haryana by issuing a fresh Certificate of Incorporation. From this development, HCIL happens to be a completely owned Indian division of Honda Motor Company.

Expressing his views on this, President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Cars India Limited, Hironori Kanayama, said, “We are committed to the Indian market and will continue to delight our customers with latest products from Honda, which will enrich their lives and enhance their lifestyles. Honda’s quality, superior technology and overall ownership experience is what has endeared this brand to our customers since inception and same philosophy will drive us in future.”
