Honda has been a strong brand in the Indian Automotive circuit. The car-maker has witnessed success across different segment in the country with its popular cars like City, CR-V and Amaze. The Japanese car-maker reportedly has been working setting-up a new manufacturing facility at Vithalapur-Manpur area near Mehsana in Gujarat. The plant is expected to cost about Rs. 4,000 Crores and has a production capacity to manufacture about 100,000 - 125,000 cars annually.
The yet to materialize project would be the third production plant for the Japanese car-maker in the country, with the first two located in Greater Noida and Tapukara. The two plants deliver a combined sales numbers of about 2,40,000 units in a year. Apart from increase in production numbers, the new plant shall also aid in introducing and producing new Honda variants in the country.
The motorcyle wing of the Japanese car-maker has also reportedly invested about Rs. 1,100 crore for about 100 hectares of land in the Vithalapur area. This plant is anticipated to be set-up at a later date.
