Honda Motors, the Japan based bike manufacturer will be focusing more on bikes in the 100cc segment in the coming in future. Bike sales in India have witnessed a push from the rural market, where more and more buyers are opting for the 100cc bikes.

In order to rebuild its distribution and sales network in the Indian auto market, Honda Motors has formed five management teams across the country. The new management teams, which are led by Japanese executives, will be creating a decentralized structure that will help the company to attain consistent sales.

As per recent industry reports, the company is creating a new 100cc bike platform that is believed to be a new version of company’s previous partner Hero’s CD platform. Considering the heavy sales of Hero’s CD Dawn and CD Deluxe, the decision of developing a new 100cc bike for the Indian market seems to be a wise one.

The new Honda 100cc bike will be targeted to rural Indian buyers, the segment where a vast potential exists in the 100cc bike segment. It is to be mentioned here that sales in rural markets contribute nearly 50 percent of the total sales of Hero group.

For the new bike, the company is expected to come-up with a new refined engine in the 100cc segment that will be delivering a better fuel economy and better performance as compared to the Hero bikes in the segment.
