      Honda's first MPV in India, Mobilio expected to recreate Toyota Innova hype

      Japanese car-maker Toyota has made a mark in the India MPV segment with the Innova MPV that has been a local favorite for quite sometime. To maintain its standing in the market, Innova has come with a fresh face-lift. On the other hand, Honda's upcoming MPV named Mobilio has been a talk of the town. The Japanese car-maker had also recently hinted on beginning the production for the Mobilio MPV. The launch shall also be a milestone event for Honda, as the car-maker shall venture into this MPV segment which has been left untouched for a while.

      Honda Mobilio MPV shall available in Petrol and Diesel variants. The petrol version shall be powered by 1.5 Liter petrol engine. The diesel variant also gets a 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine. Both the engines have been mated to 5 Speed manual gearbox. The upcoming Jazz hatchback is expected to be available in two fuel options – 1.2 litre petrol and the new 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The petrol engine generates about 86PS with 109Nm of torque, whereas its diesel counterpart generates about 100PS with 200Nm of torque. Both the engines may be mated to a five-speed gearbox as seen in petrol versions of Amaze and Brio models. Based on unofficial reports, the Mobilio MUV is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of about 25.8 kmpl.

      Toyota's top-selling MPV Innova. The car is available in two engine variants - BS III, 2494cc, 2KD-FTV, Diesel with Turbocharger, 4 in-line cylinder and BS IV, 2494cc, 2KD-FTV, Diesel with Intercooler Turbocharger, 4 in-line cylinder variant. The MUV is available in 7 seater and 8 seater variants. The interiors are comfortable, spacious and look elegant with classy dual tone seats with leather trim. On the exterior front, the MUV gets a bigger grill that is well complimented with stylish chrome lined fog lamps. The car has also received contemporary body graphics that give it a premium look.
