Before making its foray into the frugal MPV segment in India, Honda is leaving no opportunity to bring its upcoming MPV, Mobilio in notice of customers. Honda recently put on display Mobilio MPV at Shipra mall located in Indrapuram, Ghaziabad. The idea behind the preview was to know customers’ response for the MPV before it gets launched in the country. Prior to this, the vehicle was exhibited at the 2014 Auto Expo for public display at Greater Noida in the month of February. In order to reach out to other Honda car admirers in the country, the company will display the upcoming MPV in a total of fourteen cities in India. The process will be carried out by 15th to 17th August, Chennai would be the last destination to be covered under this plan.

Slated to launch by the third week of July, Mobilio is set to rival the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Toyota Innova in the MPV segment. However what will make it have an upper hand over its arch rivals is it’s over four meter length (4,390 mm) and the roomier third row seat. The vehicle will come with the following dimensions- 4,390 mm long, 1,680 mm wide, 1,610 mm tall and 2,650 mm of large wheelbase allowing ample legroom for the passengers sitting at the rear.

Honda Mobilio will be offered in petrol and diesel variants both, the petrol trims will come powered with a 1.5 litre i-VTEC gasoline engine pumping out a top power output of 116 Bhp. Diesel range of the MPV is expected to come housed with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel motor that pumps out a peak power of 99 Bhp. A five-speed manual gearbox will be put on offer in both petrol and diesel variants, while a CVT transmission could be made available on the petrol trims.

Industry insiders opine that Honda could price the MPV aggressively, a hypothetical price ranging between Rs 6.2 lakh to Rs 9 lakh is being speculated for the MPV. At this price Mobilio is sure going to the blow the MPV segment in India.
