Honda is leaving no stone unturned in the development of after-sales support for its upcoming hydrogen fuel-cell cars. The company has announced that it shall loan about $14 million to its hydrogen station provider named 'First Element' to set-up about 12 fueling stations in California. By 2020, Honda plans on setting up about 100 hydrogen fueling stations.
Speaking more on the occasion, Steven Center, Vice President, Honda's environmental-business development said, “First Element Fuel is providing a vital piece of what is needed for a successful launch of fuel-cell vehicles. Through this collaboration, First Element will enable our customers to experience hydrogen refueling that is as reliable, convenient and consumer-friendly as the vehicles are.”
It is also interesting to note that, earlier this year First Element had received about $27 million in grants from the California Energy Commission to aid in construction of 19 stations. With the recent positive developments Honda expects a good demand for the upcoming Hydrogen fuel cell cars that is due for launch sometime soon.
