Honda, the renowned global automotive brand has been known for quality, refinement and safety. As a proof to one of many Honda's success tale in India, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has revealed that the company has crossed the one lakh diesel engine car sales in the country. The feat is quite an achievement especially since the first 1.5 Liter i-DTEC engine was launched with Amaze sedan last year in April.
Subsequently the diesel engine found a hotspot in the early 2014 launched 4th generation Honda City. And now even the recently launched Mobilio MPV has been launched with a diesel alternative. As per a statement from Jnaneswar Sen, HCIL Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales), The 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine was Honda's first step into the diesel market and we have come out with exceptional results... it has been well accepted in the country and is attracting new customers to the Honda brand every day. The 100,000 sales of i-DTEC powered cars is a major milestone for us.”
Honda has reportedly designed the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine as per local conditions. Friction-reduction technologies and lightweight crankshaft has been used to deliver enhanced overall performance figures. Moreover, the newer engine has better cooling efficiency and greater duel efficiency figures.
