      Honda CBR650F spotted at a dealership in Indore; Launching soon

      The Honda’s much-awaited sport tourer - the CBR650F - has recently been spotted at a dealership in Indore. This indicates that the bike will soon go on sale. The CBR650F will be brought as CKD (Complete Knock Down) unit, and then assembled at the company’s Manesar plant with 5% localization. Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) will, initially, assemble only 2 units of the bike a day.

      Power for the CBR650F comes from a 649cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled in-line engine that mated to a 6-speed transmission. This engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 87bhp with 62Nm of torque. It takes 4 seconds to achieve 0-100kmph with a top speed of 225kmph. The bike is equipped with 41mm telescopic fork up front and a swingarm monoshock strut rear suspension units.

      The braking system is composed of 320mm twin-piston caliper disc and 240mm single-piston caliper disc brakes at front and rear axles respectively. Features on offer are ABS (anti-lock braking system), a digital speedo with two tripmeters, etc. Coming to the dimensions, the CBR650F measures 2,110mm in length, 755mm in width and 1,145mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,450mm. Based on a twin-spar steel platform, the bike features bold stances, chiseled fairing, pronounced fuel tank, single piece headlight cluster and a single seat.

      The Honda CBR650F will compete against the Benelli TNT 600i, Triumph Street Triple, Hyosung GT650R and Kawasaki Z800 in India. It is likely to be priced around Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
