Honda Car India Ltd is apparently working on a facelift version of its compact sedan Amaze. The company is working to reduce NVH levels (Noise Vibration Harshness) in diesel powered Amaze that has been a matter of criticism by customers. Besides reduced NVH levels, the sedan will sport minor exterior and interior changes. The sub-four meter sedan from Honda made its debut in India last year. This was also the first diesel engined vehicle launched by Honda in domestic market. On the back of its high fuel efficiency and several other attributes, the compact sedan is on verge of accomplishing 1 lakh unit sales mark.

The diesel variant for obvious reasons is a more popular variant, powering Amaze is a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel powertrain developed by Honda. Built with aluminium the diesel powertrain is lighter and frugal, however the only point of disappointment has been its noise. Amaze’s facelift version slated to come next year will come infused with increased sound deadening material to curb noisy sound. Other than this, injection timing will also be modified for improved overall refinement. Though Honda has equipped new City and Mobilio MPV with the improved 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine that makes lesser noise and upcoming Jazz will also get the same engine.
