      Hero MotoCorp to set-up new Global Parts Center in Neemrana Rajasthan

      Hero MotoCorp, the largest two wheeler maker in the Indian auto market is planning to invest heavily (about Rs 160 crore) to set-up their ‘Global Parts Center’ in Neemrana Rajasthan. The all new Parts center will be spread over an area of 35 acres, announced Mr. Pawan Munjal, MD & CEO, Hero MotoCorp.

      Mr. Munjal was speaking at the at the company's Global Supply Chain Partners Conference 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The 3 day conference was attended by more than 125 component suppliers of the company from the countries like India, China, Thailand, Japan and Europe.

      The new Global Parts Center will be employing as many as 400 people initially and will go on stream by third quarter of the financial year 2014. The GPC will be integrated with all international standard systems like automated storage and retrieval system, on-line tracking of parts through Warehouse Management System (WMS), automated packaging and sorting system, lean manufacturing systems and most importantly and the Green Building Concept.

      While further speaking over this proposed GPC, Mr. Munjal added, "The highly-mechanized, technologically-superior GPC will be a new industry benchmark once it becomes fully-operational."
