Audi, one of the leading premium German automakers globally, has pulled off cover from the facelifted version of its flagship coupe/roadster, Audi R8 much before its scheduled worldwide debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September this year.
The 2013 Audi R8 will embody minor styling tweaks on the interiors and exteriors, while the highlight is the incorporation of an all new 7 speed S tronic dual clutch transmission replacing the earlier 6 speed automated manual R tronic.
On the exteriors, six point single frame grille and chrome inserts along with restyled bumper with air inlets comprise of minor amendments. The LED headlights on the rear are developed with most modern technology and will be offered as a standard feature with all the variants of the car.
In addition, above the highly glossy black portion between the vent openings, a newly carved badge has been engraved, which has the alphabet ‘R’ elegantly placed on a red diamond denoting the automaker’s Sport signature. The car will also encompass a new diffuser and rounded, glossy tailpipe trims, which will be offered on all the engine variants. On the interiors, the new Audi R8 is crafted with diamond stitched fine Nappa full leather upholstery on the door and seat trims
Moreover, the addition of the V10 plus model along with the unchanged powertrains to be offered only in coupe avatar will outpour an increased power of 542bhp capable of attaining a speed of 100kph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. The top speed achieved by the V10 plus model of facelifted Audi R8 has accelerated to 317kph.
2013 Audi R8 will be tagged at $137,576 and $151,266 for the V8 coupe and spyder models, respectively, while the R8 V10 Plus is expected to be shelved at $209,931 in Germany.
