The hype of high-performing power-packed motorbikes is increasing by the day as the youth of today’s generation have shown an inclination towards these bikes and superbikes. As a result, manufacturers have started enriching their product portfolio with such higher-end bikes. Hero MotoCorp, which was particularly known for its array of daily purpose commuter motorcycles has moved on to bring some of the most performance oriented motorcycles to its portfolio. The recent addition among these is the Hero HX250R. Hero had some surprise up its sleeve for all experts and fans across the globe when it showcased the showstopper quarter litre HX250R instead of waiting till the Auto Expo. The new bike has been termed as the Rocket due to its claimed specifications and figures.

There were rumours and reports right since the month of August about the fact that the new HX250R will be launched some time during the middle of November. However, the chances were pretty grim and there were no confirmed updates from the company itself. However, in an interesting turnaround of events, it seems pretty likely that the company will launch the HX250R in November. Not only has the launch date been released, but also there are some reports from a reliable source about the pricing of the bike. It has been said that the bike might be priced somewhere around 1.8 lakhs INR, which is for all reasons, the on-road price. However, the news is not yet official and all of it is speculative, as of now.

When it comes to the speculations of this new ‘Rocket’ from Hero, it seems that the bike is here to please all. It gets its power from a 249 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine, which is capable of producing 31 bhp of core power. Definitely, the power output is the maximum in its segment. On the other hand, the peak torque output of the bike is nearly 26 Nm, which is an impressive value in itself. The makers of this mean machine have claimed that the bike is capable of hit 60 kilometres per hour from standstill position in a jaw-dropping 2.7 seconds. If that is true, then the speed-lovers are in for some crude action once this bike hits the markets. When you zoom at high speeds, you need to have an equally great calliper to bring the machine to a halt. The front wheel is provided with a three calliper 300 mm disc brake and the rear one gets a 200 mm disc. The advanced Electronic Control Unit (ECU) gets a dual mapping system; one of which will be focussed towards the power output, while the other will concentrate on performance. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a six-speed constant mesh gearbox.

People who are already re-reading the highly impressive specifications have guessed it right. The numbers, which have been promised look extremely lucrative; however, it should be kept in mind that all is only on paper as of yet. More shall be known only after the bike is unleashed in the markets. If what is being bragged about the Rocket comes true after its release, Hero is definitely going to give Honda a really tough competition, sliding the CBR250R out of the game at ease. More updates to follow once some official statement is acquired.
