Work was in progress on the existing engine to increase its overall performance for quite some time. The Research and Development team was working day in and out in this aspect. Finally, the engine has been remodelled and re-engineered to give more power with a better mileage and an improved ride-ability. The engine in discussion has serious implication in the real world as it is the core behind most of the daily commuter motorcycles from the house of Hero MotoCorp. The most popular among these bikes, which use this engine, are HF Dawn, HF Deluxe, the recently launched Splendor Pro Classic, Splendor iSmart, Splendor Pro and Passion Pro. As a result, once the re-engineered engine is installed in all these models, the sales of all these commuter motorcycles are expected to increase. This will definitely boost the sales figures of Hero MotoCorp on the whole.
The engine was initially sourced from Honda, with which Hero had a partnership for long. However, the engine was retained even after the mutual parting away from the partnership. The newly designed engine was originally tested on Splendor Pro at the beginning of this year. The result, which showed up was impressive with improvement in the overall mileage as well as in the power figures. Hero MotoCorp was satisfied with the improvement and decided to move further with the new engine. As a result, it decided to bring the new engine on other bikes of Hero MotoCorp. The specific reason is that the majority of earnings of Hero MotoCorp come from the 100 cc commuter biking section. An improvement in that category might as well be the deciding factor to improve the sales figures for the brand as a whole. The major highlight of this engine has been its hassle-free nature, as a result of which, it requires less maintenance even on prolonged years of ownership.
