      Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz battle it out for the Top Position in the Sedan Segment

      Even a decade back, the number of options available in the segment of sedans was limited. A few trademark models from the same manufacturers and that was all for the sedan lovers. However, the scenario changed rapidly in the next couple of years. Indians came out in huge numbers for their love of cars, which motivated the manufacturer go all out in introducing newer models in the country. Especially, the number of sedans rapidly increased because of the fans’ love for this segment. Now, at this moment, there are a plethora of options when it comes to sedans. People can actually compare and choose from across different models from various manufacturers available in the segment.

      Honda City

However, the Verna can also seat five people and with its impressive appearance is one of the most favourite choices for sedan lovers across the nation.

      Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
       

      There is a new model, which has been capable of creating some ripples in the segment of sedans recently. Maruti Ciaz, which was launched some time back, has been able to make a mark in this category already with impressive specifications and some solid good looks. The Ciaz ZDi variant is powered by a 1248 cc 16V DDiS diesel engine and is capable to produce 88.5 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm. The torque output at the peak condition is 200 Nm at a reduced 1750 rpm. The minimum turning radius for this car is tagged at 5.4 metres, which means it can manoeuvred well even on smaller roads. FWD has been provided for better control and power is sent to the wheels via a five-speed gearbox. The fuel tank capacity is same as the Verna at 43 litres and the gross weight of the car when full is nearly 1585 kilograms. The ground clearance of this model is an impressive 170 millimetres, which means the engine stays protected even on bumpy roads. The seating capacity of this model is five and just like other sedans can be comfortable vehicle for a family long drive. With a mileage of 26.3 kilometres per litre on highways and 22.4 kilometres per litre on city roads, this new model from Maruti is right up there on the list of top sedan models.
