Ford India recently proclaimed its plan to launch four new cars in India within coming 18 to 20 months. Besides this, the company is also structuring a plan to intensify localization of its vehicles to bring down price of their cars in India. However, Ford has not revealed any details on the four new models being contemplated for India and they even did not reveal which segments these new cars will belong to. Though we expect that among the four new models one could be the upgraded version of Figo hatchback, while other could be the upcoming Figo based compact sedan and third could be the comprehensively tweaked version of Endeavour premium SUV. We got to see a glimpse of Figo sedan concept at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida earlier in the month of February.
Four years ago the company had announced their plan to launch eight new cars in India conceived on global platform by the end of 2015. But it seems that owing to slow market condition and decline in economy the car maker could not be able to meet its target. Among its new launches in the last four years, EcoSport so far has been the most admired vehicle in India.
