Ford Figo has been one among popular hatchbacks being sold in the hatchback segment in India. Last year Ford had managed maintain an average sale of about 1500 units of Figo units every month. Fresh reports have been hinting on a possibility that Ford may halt the production of the current version to make way for the new trim. The report is fueled based on sales figures for the month of December, wherein the company had managed to sell only about 151 vehicles. The new trim of the hatchback is likely to be manufactured at Sanand plant in Gujarat.
The India bound Ford Figo shall be available in petrol as well as diesel trims. The petrol trim is likely to be powered by 1.2 Liter engine, whereas the diesel trim gets a 1.4 Liter engine. The sources have also hinted on a possibility that the new upcoming Figo shall also be available with a 1.0 Liter EcoBoost engine that has bee serving the Ecosport trim in the country.
As part of fresh upgrades, the vehicle is likely to get larger hexagonal front grille along with a redesigned head light and tail lamps. Sources have also indicated that Ford has begun the production of new trims for the domestic market.
