Ford India is planning aggressive plans for the Indian market. It has already launched Ford Figo with its attractive pricing and alluring features. Next in queue is the Ford Focus model which may come as a sedan as well hatchback model. The company recently previewed the next generation Ford Focus at the recent 2010 Beijing Auto Show to capitalise on on growth in China and across the Asia Pacific and Africa region.
The new generation Ford Focus promises to be powered by the new Ford EcoBoost engine that delivers better fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. Ford is further announcing that a 2.0-litre EcoBoost-powered version of the Ford Mondeo will be introduced in China before the end of 2010. "Ford EcoBoost combines direct petrol injection and turbocharging in smaller-displacement engines to give customers outstanding fuel economy and reduced CO2 with the spirited performance they expect from a larger engine," Ford reported.
It is widely speculated that the Ford Focus model coming to India will be a sedan model as Ford is already generating volume sales with its new hatchback model Ford Figo. There is sufficient space for a new sedan model make an entry in Ford’s portfolio along with Ford Fiesta.
