Ford’s tweaked Fiesta sedan is on brink of launching in India, the company will be launching the diesel version first in domestic market followed by the petrol variant. Besides the exterior and interior tweaks, the sedan has been tuned to deliver high fuel efficiency. The 1.5 litre diesel powertrain powering the vehicle engendering a top power output of 90 Bhp is capable of returning a high fuel efficiency of 25.01 kms in a litre. Possibility of an automatic variant in Fiesta diesel is bleak and hence it is being said that Ford could offer Fiesta diesel in a five-speed manual transmission only.
Petrol variant that will be launched by the end of this year in domestic market will come equipped with a 1.5 litre petrol motor. Speculations are rife that Ford could also put on offer the renowned 1.0 litre EcooBoost petrol engine currently powering EcoSport compact SUV. Currently C segment is ruled by the new City sedan launched in the month of January in India. Besides City, new Fiesta will also fight with the likes of Hyundai Verna, tweaked Sunny, Vento facelift and Maruti’s new Ciaz sedan. Fiesta has been a good product yet it did not have many takers due to its high pricing. Hopefully, this time Ford will price the sedan competitively.
