After the successful launch of Abarth 595 Competizione in India, FCA India will be launching India’s most performance centric hatch - the Punto Evo Abarth at a reported price of Rs 10 lakhs. A teaser image of the Italian racy looking hatch has already appeared on the official website. The car maker had already showcased Punto Abarth at the launch of Abarth 595 and now is readying it for an October launch in India.

It will be available only in two shades of white and black with the essential Scorpion logo layered on all possible places. The overall design will be similar to the standard hatch except for sport additions. One thing that will be abundance is the use of chrome and red stripes to make it represent the brand in the most stylish way possible.

Inside the Punto Evo Abarth, there aren’t any screaming elements as Fiat has deliberately kept the entire layout very subtle and minimal. The instrumental cluster gets the Abarth logo and the seats are stitched in red. It still doesn’t offer a range of Abarth accessories which a typical car from the performance offers in the international markets.

The heart of the matter has got super exciting as the Punto Evo Abarth makes use of a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes a mind numbing 145 bhp of power and 205 Nm of torque. Making the motor perform at its peak best is a 5-speed manual transmission. Official acceleration figures claim that this peppy of a motor does 0 to 100 kmph in less than 10 seconds; a feat which single-handedly will make the Punto Evo Abarth a choice of performance enthusiasts.

And it is not just about insane performance but everyday practicality too that the Punto Evo Abarth will target as it will deliver a mileage of 17.1 kmpl. Post the launch of Punto Abarth, Fiat will also launch a similarly spiced up Avventura Abarth.
