Fiat India that launched the Linea facelift in March 2014, is now planning to bring-in a Limited Edition of the sedan – the Linea Elegante. To be positioned above the existing top-end variant, the Fiat Linea Elegante will receive a few exterior and interior updates. Though, there will be no mechanical changes made to the Limited Edition.
On the outside, the Linea Elegante will feature a front grille with black inserts, modified front and rear bumpers, side skirts and an integrated rear spoiler. Features like the Punto Evo-inspired alloy wheels and black roof add more to its sporty appeal. Inside the cabin, the car will get a touchscreen infotainment system and some additional features.
As mentioned above, no mechanical updates have been made to the Linea Elegante. This Limited Edition will be powered with the existing 1.3-litre Multijet diesel and 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engines – that are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. while the former delivers a maximum power of 91.7bhp and 209Nm of torque, the latter one offers 112.4bhp and 207Nm.
The Fiat Linea Elegante will be Rs. 35,000 pricier than the Emotion variant, and is expected to be launched in India by early August. The Fiat Linea with average monthly sales less than 150 units is quite behind the competition. It competes against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. Besides launching the Fiat Linea Elegante, Fiat India will introduce the Abarth 595 Competizione on August 4, 2015.
