With high sales figures, the small car segment is the buzzing section of Indian automotive market. The leading car makers are desperately trying to grab a larger share of the Indian market by introducing latest and completely new vehicles in this particular segment. Maruti Suzuki India's offering, Alto was leading the sales figures chart until April. Presently, Swift from Maruti is dominating the sales figures overstepping Alto. However, the last generation variant of the top selling car still remains the segment leader and generates sales for the car maker.

The latest in the series of mini cars is the Eon from the Hyundai India, which is not performing up to the expectation of Hyundai. According to the car buyers, the weak air conditioning and feeble engine are the negative points of the small car.

During first half of this decade, Daewoo Matiz was a tough competitor of Alto. However, Matiz was shelved when the South Korean car maker went bankrupt and was taken over by General Motors, which paved the way for Alto to be the epic selling car.

Later, a renovated version of Matiz was launched by Chevrolet by the name of Spark, which already looks quite outdated. Hence, the car maker must make some modifications in it to make its future bright.

A camouflaged Spark model was spotted recently in Pune. According to the sources, the car will be launched soon with a new look but there are no modifications in the 1L Multi-Jet diesel engine under the hood.
