The 4th generation Honda City made its global premiere at a launch event in India on 25th November 2013. According to experts, the company deliberately chose India for showcasing its new vehicle because the Japanese firm is now focussing more on the Indian car market. In India, sales of Honda City have plummeted in the recent past as the car is only available in a diesel version. Due to this, Hyundai Verna has gained the most in the mid-size sedan segment as currently it is the leader. As far as Indian market is concerned, Honda is planning to regain the lost ground by setting a benchmark in the sedan segment with its next-generation City.

Based on the platform new Jazz, Honda has shown its class in giving City an artistic touch. As the exterior design philosophy has been named as Sleek Crossmotion, the Japanese car maker has given a sporty structure to the car, which makes it an eye catcher at first glance. It is for the first time that Honda has combined the design of coupe cars with the One Motion styling theme to transform its one of best sellers.

In the new version of City, Honda has altered with the dimensions of the car to make more spacious. Reportedly, the car has the best-in-class cabin with ample legroom, headroom and shoulder room. Also to mention, as Honda is well known for its interior packing, City would be no exception to the rule. It will have some of the class-leading equipment that will give a premium feel to the cabin. In the upcoming sedan, Honda has given an LCD infotainment system with eight speakers along with four charging points for the convenience of almost every occupant. Apart from it, reverse parking sensors, sunroof, cruise control and rear-air conditioning vents are also present.

Powering the new Honda City diesel will be the 1.5-litre DDiS unit that already comes equipped on Amaze. Although the company has not officially released any information regarding specifications but it is claimed by Honda that the diesel engine would render best-in-class mileage figures. It will be first time that Honda City would be available with a diesel engine. On the other hand, the petrol version shall be given away with 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that will be bear numerous advancements in order to extract more mileage.
