India is eagerly awaiting launch of upcoming hatchback Datsun GO which is speculated to happen anytime soon. The company however has kept all the launching details under the wrap yet, but sources close to development opine that the hatchback will soon be available for sale. The petite hatchback grabbed eyeballs for its low price which is expected to fall in the range of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh making it a strong contender in the A segment. The A segment has cars like Maruto Alto K10, Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon which have already crafted a niche for themselves. Therefore in order to divert all the attention towards itself, Datsun GO will have to come up with an aggressive price and segment best features.
Rumours suggest that bookings for the petite hatchback have also commenced, and dealers are accepting bookings for GO hatchback at a meagre token amount. The car maker is said to be proffering certain features as optional which will be offered as standard in the high end models.
GO has capacious cabin with enough head room and leg room for the passengers. Datsun has packed GO hatchback with a 1.2 litre, three pot motor that churns out a maximum power output of 68 Bhp along with a top torque of 110 Nm.
GO is the first car from the stables of Datsun in India, Datsun is a low cost co-brand of Nissan which the company decided to induct in India. In future we will see launch of a string of products by Datsun including a sub-four-meter MPV, GO+. The company could also bring a B segment hatchback in the coming time based on the rediGO concept unveiled recently.
