      Datsun Go+ expected to be a strong contender against Honda Mobilio

      The Go+ MPV from Datsun has been one of the most anticipated vehicle this year. As per speculations, the Datsun Go+ MPV shall be available in five trims in India including D, A, Option A, T and Option T variants.

      As per reports, GO+ shall be powered by Nissan’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which generates about 68 PS of power and 104 Nm of peak torque. The MPV shall be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, overall kerb weight of the car is a good 794 kgs that makes it faster and efficient than the rest in this segment. Furthermore, it is also one of the lightest MPVs that has been put up for sale in India. There are certain excise duty benefits that come with cars in the sub-4m bracket, and Datsun Go+ with an overall length of 3995 mm makes it befitting in this category. The pricing for this MPV shall also be well within the competitive range to draw a swarm of interested buyers.

      At a recent event, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President of Nissan India Operations, and Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) said, “The company could have done much better in India than what it has achieved so far. But things will soon change as volumes are set to go up with the launch of Terrano late last year and Datsun GO last month and new models. The company is revamping its product portfolio. This will see Nissan introduce an upgraded Sunny sedan possibly by middle of the year and Datsun Go Plus in the second half this year. We will also be launching a totally redone utility vehicle Nisan Evalia before the end of the year. The revamped Evalia is based on extensive customer feedback.” Moreover, the Japanese car-maker is also expected to launch fresh cars namely – Evalia MPV and the Sunny sedan, along with the Datsun Go+ MPV.

      The Mobilio MPV from Japanese car-maker Honda has been in the news for quite sometime now. As per a new update, the MPV is expected to be launched in second half of this year possibly just ahead of the festive season. The Japanese car-maker had also recently hinted on beginning the production for the Mobilio MPV. The launch shall also be a milestone event for Honda, as the car-maker shall venture into this MPV segment which has been left untouched for a while.

      Honda Mobilio MPV is available in Petrol and Diesel variants. The petrol version shall be powered by 1.5 Liter petrol engine. The diesel variant also gets a 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine. Both the engines have been mated to 5 Speed manual gearbox. Based on unofficial reports, the Mobilio MUV is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of about 25.8 kmpl. Details on the pricing aspect has not been revealed for now and may only be known post its launch in the country.

      The Datsun Go hatchback launched recently has generated a warm welcome response from the local market, Datsun intends on receiving such similar responses from the Go+ MPV too post its launch in the local market.
